Some Recent Advocacy Actions
Supported the creation of the Kalaupapa Memorial
Supported efforts to address the threats the fuel storage facility at Kapukaki (Red Hill) Poses
Supported the General Excise tax exemption for medical services to Medicare, Medicaid, & TRICARE recipients
Supported measures to improve stewardship of Mauna Kea and protect it from further descration
Supported disaggregation of Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander health data in the wake of the COVID-10 Pandemic
Supported prior authorization reform, requiring insurance plans to submit datat to Hawaii State Health Planning and Development Agency

Submit a Request

Any member of ‘Ahahui o Nā Kauka may submit a request for group endorsement of a particular advocacy issue in writing to the advocacy subcommittee.

 

This request should include an explanation of how this issue relates to our guiding statement and should make a case for a specific action or position on an advocacy issue.
